j-tree
we arrived in Joshua tree Saturday and scouted around for some climbing that would be good for n00bs like us. almost immediately, we found Atlantis wall, which has a relatively easy walk-on for setting top rope. on Sunday and Monday we climbed there. nothing too hard - we kept it simple for our first outing.
it went really well. it’s incredibly easy to set up really bomber top-rope anchors for many of the routes, simply by slinging a boulder or horn with webbing or cordlette. we could easily and quickly set top rope for “men with cows heads”, “wet pidgeon” and “hot crystals” that way.
one or two photos and maybe a little video of our beginner’s effort at jt to follow in the nearish future.
